Hi, Neighbor!
I/we are excited to start a Neighborhood for Wildlife and hope you are interested in joining with me/us. Forming a Neighborhood for Wildlife means becoming familiar with the wildlife in our area (from bugs to birds to beavers) and supporting them by finding ways to protect them, building habitat for them, and/or attracting wildlife that has been here or that could do well here. It means getting to know one another and working toward protecting species that may be declining – or that could decline if we don’t help out.
Neighborhoods for Wildlife is a program and organization that provides resources to help us make this happen! We can:
-define what our wildlife neighborhood boundaries are
-use our expertise and interests to educate ourselves about particular species and habitats
-find ways to protect the wildlife that’s here
-consider how we can improve our properties or homes to attract and support species
-make it happen together and celebrate our successes as a neighborhood!
